John Windover is a Senior Partner and Director in Bain & Company’s Private Equity Practice.

He has over 22 years of experience at Bain working across a wide range of technology sectors from Bain’s San Francisco, Chicago, and Toronto offices. John has assessed over 350 assets in diligence and has worked inside over 25 Private Equity owned assets. He has also helped global investment funds define their investment strategies on where to focus and how to win in focus sectors.

John advises global investors and clients on due diligence, corporate and business unit growth strategy, customer segmentation, salesforce effectiveness, product development, organizational design, cost and operations optimization and post-merger integration. He has worked with numerous software and technology companies to define go-to-market models, optimize salesforce resources, define new products to most effectively address current and expected future customer needs, and optimize software R&D spend and processes.

John holds a Ph.D. and M.Sc. in Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley. He also holds a B.Sc. from Queen’s University in Engineering where he received the Gold Medal for highest standing across all Engineering programs.
