Joel is a seasoned entrepreneur and business leader with a rich and diverse background in sales, finance, and strategic business management. He leverages his extensive experience to offer tech founders and CEOs mentorship, guidance, and invaluable insights. Outside of his advisory role, Joel is Executive Director of PeerScale, an organization that supports and connects Canadian tech CEOs and executives.

In 2006, Joel co-founded and became CEO of Firmex Inc., a groundbreaking SaaS Virtual Data Room solution that revolutionized the way organizations securely shared diligence and compliance information for complex transactions and confidential processes. During his ownership, Firmex became a global leader that was highly recognized for its customer service, strong performance and company culture. Joel successfully navigated three private equity ownership transitions during his ownership, ultimately selling the business to strategic buyer DataSite in 2022.

Prior to Firmex, Joel was co-founder of Crescent Logic, a pioneering software company specializing in providing investment banks with cutting-edge technology to distribute equity research online and held sales roles at Pointforce and Netsuite.

Joel kickstarted his journey in 1993 when he earned his MA in History of Philosophy & Science.
