Laurinda Lee-Retter

Social Entrepreneur

Following a career as an Executive Assistant, I followed my dream of making a difference in society by combining entrepreneurship with social good. In 2017, I founded the Kind Karma Company which employs at-risk and transitioning homeless youth to handcraft quality jewellery. In addition to receiving fair hourly wages, proceeds from all sales are also returned to employees to support the achievement of individual goals and aspirations.

Since then, myself and the company have been featured in several publications and podcasts including Toronto Life, NOW Magazine, Vanity fair, Cause Artist, Change Creator to name a few. I am also an eager participant of panels and have spoken regularly on the topic of social entrepreneurship at events such as the Buy Good Feel Good Expo, the ENSPIRE conference by Enactus Ryerson and the EcoSession series in Toronto.
