Alex Tylee

Vice President, Powertrain Engineering

Alex Tylee is Vice President of Powertrain Engineering at Harbinger, focused on  building the company’s medium-duty commercial electric vehicle powertrain and bringing it to production. With a reputation for getting things done, Alex designed gear sets for some of the best known EVs in the world and is widely known in the industry as the go-to engineer for solving EV transmission noise problems. 

Fast tracked to Principal Engineer at Ricardo early in his career, Alex knew he could do more and in 2007 he created a consultancy called Drive System Design (DSD). He saw massive global success at DSD, growing it to more than 130 people and earning a Consultancy of the Year designation three times. Now, his greatest source of inspiration is encouraging the development of young engineers and sharing his knowledge to help them be successful. 

Alex earned his Master’s in Mechanical Engineering from Imperial College London.
