Roozbeh founded Plasmagear with a dream to produce novel nanofiber based roll materials at scale. He bootstrapped the development of the technology from 2019-2024 by executing multiple grants and development contracts valued over 6 millions dollars. He built relationships with government and industry professionals and developed various nanofiber based roll materials used in the field of filtration and energy sector. Roozbeh has an MSc in Mechanical Engineering from University College London (UK), and a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from McGill University (Canada). By training, he is highly specialized in micro and nanotechnology and has published over 10 scientific articles (350+ citations) and has 2 patents in this field. He has been recognized for his work with awards, interviews, and invitations (for example, Grand Challenges of Canada award, CSA Program Manager’s Commendation award, BBC World Radio interview,). In his spare time Roozbeh enjoys reading books, swimming and playing tennis.
