Dan Laramee is a seasoned multi-disciplined security specialist with over 20 years of experience encompassing all aspects of security including physical, digital, and employee security clearances.

Dedicated to meeting every new challenge, Dan shows a daily commitment to ensuring that T-Base meets the stringent security requirements of the some of the world’s most regulated institutions while helping them to automate their accessible document creation. It was under his leadership that the organization’s state-of-the-art security and privacy infrastructure became certified as HIPAA compliant. He was also instrumental in helping ensure that T-Base was the first alternate format company to be certified under both the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS) and SSAE-18 SOC2 Type 2.

As Chief Information Officer at T-Base Communications, Dan oversees security for the company’s physical facilities, personnel, and IT. This includes the development, maintenance and continuous improvement of T-Base Communications Information Technology Security programs, policies and processes, network infrastructure, architecture, risk assessments, business continuity planning and information systems disaster recovery.

He also plays a key role in helping his team produce and deliver accessible document conversion at enterprise scale so they can empower more consumers who are partially sighted or blind to be able to fully utilize the services they are paying for. This also benefits organizations by reducing the risk of noncompliance and legal lawsuits. Meeting the security requirements of highly regulated industries while serving others is a role he loves for the challenges it presents as well as the opportunity to flex his problem-solving capabilities.

Prior to joining T-Base, Dan spent about 12 years in the Canadian Navy. After leaving the Navy to pursue a career in IT at Electronic Warfare Associates Canada, he was a member of CanCERT (Canadian Computer Emergency Response Team) where he gained significant practical experience in incident response, intrusion detection, IT security architecture design, and penetration and vulnerability scanning. Thanks to his time in the Navy plus his experience at Electronic Warfare Associate Canada, Dan brings a disciplined approach to his role at T-Base. These values and his work ethic are reflected in his deep understanding of and dedication to confidentiality, privacy, data integrity, and security of T-Base’s customers.
