Edward Quilty

CEO - BOARD OF DIRECTORS

After 20 years as the Founder & CEO of Aquatic Informatics (AQI), Edward recently transitioned to Corporate Director roles and impact investing, to help more companies solve the biggest global climate and environmental issues. Edward is passionate about all things water – rivers, lakes, and oceans – and building exceptional teams to take on the many challenges.

As a scientist and entrepreneur, Edward founded AQI in 2003 to protect life with open and timely water information. With more than 2000 customers in 60 countries, AQI grew to be the largest water data management & analytics software company in the world. AQI SaaS solutions are used to ensure safe drinking water and wastewater treatment, forecast and respond to floods, generate power, provide water for irrigation and industrial use, and to protect the environment.

In 2020 AQI was acquired by Danaher, an incredibly successful $30B revenue global conglomerate that includes many of the top companies in water. Edward stayed on as President of AQI for 2 years, helping set the path for even higher growth and executing on a succession plan, while learning Danaher Business Systems. In July 2022 Edward retired from Danaher to focus on family, Director roles, and impact investing.

Edward is a registered professional biologist with the BC College of Applied Biology, a member of the US-based Methods and Data Comparability Board’s Sensor Workgroup, and was VP of the Canadian Water Resources Association’s (CWRA) BC Branch from 2005 to 2011. Edward holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Victoria and completed four years of a PhD in hydro-informatics at the University of British Columbia.
