Kara is a strategic partnerships and external relations expert with international business, finance, and policy experience in the United States, Canada, and Myanmar. She is a United Way East Ontario Community Builder and an Ottawa Board of Trade & Ottawa Business Journal Forty Under 40 award recipient.

Kara is currently the Director, Bayview Yards Growth and Success at Invest Ottawa, the lead economic development agency, innovation hub, and technology accelerator in Canada’s capital. In this role, she develops and implements the placemaking and stakeholder experience strategy for Bayview Yards, maximizing the value and impact of the innovation hub. She also leads the revenue and business development plan for Bayview Yards, including all sponsorships and partnerships.

An accomplished public speaker, Kara has presented on topics related to innovation and technology, transracial adoption and parenting, anti-racism, and disability inclusion at the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting of the New Champions (Summer Davos), Black Enterprise TV, Global Dignity Day, the North American Council on Adoptable Children Conference (NACAC), and the U.S. Embassy in Ottawa.
