In his current role as Vice President - Global Expansion, Jens-Michael provides strategic leadership and direction to Invest Ottawa's Global Expansion team to drive business development and program delivery with a focus on foreign direct investment (FDI), business retention and expansion (BRE), international trade, talent attraction and workforce development programming within Canada's Capital Region. He leads Government Relation efforts related to his business lines with municipal, provincial and federal government stakeholders at the bureaucrat and political level, resulting in project collaboration and new funding opportunities for Invest Ottawa. As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, Jens-Michael is providing strategic leadership and oversight to the entire organization, including strategy, finance, operations to ensure Invest Ottawa is in compliance with its mandate, funding agreements and financial obligations.

Proven leader of high performing teams with +20 years of senior professional experience in the private, public and non-for-profit sectors within the spheres of commercial diplomacy, economic and international business development, government relations, project management and program development. Excellent interpersonal and intercultural communicator. Demonstrated experience working with multi-stakeholder groups including federal, provincial and municipal governments, foreign governments, industry partners and NGOs, in a national and international context. Solid financial management experience paired with entrepreneurial spirit and professional business acumen. Highly motivated and adaptable self-starter who enjoys a challenge and getting results.
