As ventureLAB's VP of Strategy & Stakeholder Engagement, Sophia is immersed in developing ventureLAB’s strategic plan to support national and global expansion. Sophia has held a number of senior roles in various non-profit and governmental organizations in Canada and Asia. With over 20 years of hands-on managerial experience at non-profit organizations, she has direct experience working with and advising corporations and governments on policy-related issues, corporate communications and leading impactful initiatives. Sophia most recently served as the Executive Director of the globally significant Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong and before that, she was the Head of Education and Society for the British Council in Hong Kong while also acting as the Deputy Director of Education, East Asia. Her previous appointments have brought her to work alongside high-profile organizations such as the World Bank, IUCN and Environment Canada. In her former roles, she has helped form and advise strategic directions regarding social policy and has led several initiatives ranging from social innovation to gender equity.
