John grew up on a small farm outside of London, Ontario. The family hog farming business grew very large until its closure in 2004.

John possesses a B.A. from the University of Guelph, an MBA from Queen’s University and has his Certified Management Accountant degree.

A numbers man, John’s expertise includes finance, business administration and agribusiness consulting. His career experience includes seven years at General Dynamics in London, Ontario, in various finance, business development and business strategy roles.

Following his time at General Dynamics, John formed BlueStar Distribution with Mike Perovich in 2011 and grew the company in both eastern and western Canada – ultimately selling it to Univar Corporation in 2015. After the sale of BlueStar, John was involved in select startups and provided consulting services for local farmers to help them grow their businesses.

John has ownership in a few local businesses and reacquired BlueStar Distribution along with Future Transfer in 2020.

John and his wife Karin live in Tillsonburg, Ontario and stay busy with their growing family of five children.
