John founded DePutter Publishing Ltd. in 1981 and sold the company in 2021. As President of DePutter Publishing for four decades, John possesses great insight and a thorough knowledge of commodity markets, grain marketing strategies and risk management.

Having completed his B.A. from the University of Western Ontario, John started his career working as Secretary Manager for the Middlesex Federation of Agriculture. After developing a loyal following of his farm show as a broadcaster for CFPL Radio in London in the late 1970s and early 80s, John started his own business as an agricultural writer, commodity analyst and publisher of newsletters.

John has contributed to a wide variety of publications and has designed and taught commodity marketing courses. Over the years he has been a frequent speaker at farm meetings and conferences, building relationships with farmers and agribusiness people across Canada. Through his new company, JDP Canada Inc, John is now focused on agricultural investing and occasional writing.  

As residents of London, Ontario, John and his wife Nancy enjoy outdoor activities, travelling and spending time with their friends and family.
