Jay retired in June 2018 as President of Syngenta Canada Inc. During his 36 years in the Canadian agriculture industry, Jay forged many long-lasting relationships with agricultural networks across Canada which he maintains today.

After growing up on a farm in Quebec, Jay received his B.Sc. (Agriculture) from the University of Guelph. He also has an MBA from the University of Saskatchewan.

Jay’s board experience includes: Chair and Director of CropLife Canada, Chair of CleanFarms Canada, Cereals Canada, ROI (Rural Ontario Institute) and the Ontario 4H Foundation. Most recently, Jay has been appointed to the “Soil Champions” Committee of the Soil Conservation Council of Canada.

He was named CAMA AgriMarketer of the Year (2009) and received the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee medal for dedication to Canadian agriculture. In 2020, Jay was inducted into the Canadian Agriculture Hall of Fame.

Together with his wife Kathy, Jay lives in Guelph, Ontario. Their two sons, Sam and Ben, also live and work in the Guelph area. Jay enjoys their hobby farm and his vintage Willys jeeps.
