Patricia Nielsen is the Head of Startups for Amazon Web Services (AWS) Canada. In this role, she leads a national team that works with companies using cloud computing, data, and AI services from AWS to accelerate their growth into profitable, long-term businesses.
Patricia's mission is to align people, programs, and resources from AWS and the community to support Canadian startups in achieving their full potential. She helps these companies build locally while scaling globally. With over two decades of experience in the technology sector, Patricia has worked with customers across all industries and sizes. She combines her unique background in direct and channel sales and consulting to advise companies on their go-to-market strategy, turning technology into realized business value.
As a passionate mentor, Patricia provides 1-on-1 guidance, and mentors startups on their sales and go-to-market strategies. She also launched a Mentoring Circles program through the Women in Communications & Technology non-profit, which has connected hundreds of individuals across Canada.
In addition, Patricia serves on the Board of Directors and chairs the Governance Committee for the Accelerator Centre, an award-winning startup incubator in Waterloo, Ontario. She is also an Advisory Council Member for Women Funding Women, a collective focused on addressing the funding gap faced by women entrepreneurs.
As a community-focused leader, Patricia works to promote equity, diversity, and inclusion. She actively participates in public speaking opportunities on these topics, creates space for underrepresented individuals, and highlights Canadian companies and talent.
