With over 20 years experience as a Speech Language Pathologist, she started her career in a Skilled Nursing Facility in New Jersey and served clients with various neurological deficits focusing on dysphagia management. She later relocated to Illinois and broadened her knowledge in treatment of cognitive impairments while continuing her passion for treating clients with dysphagia, and then moving to Wisconsin and began running the therapy department at the Lutheran Home in Wisconsin. She soon began managing a larger team of nursing staff and therapists such as physiotherapy and occupational therapy.
During her time at Lutheran Home, she focused on quality projects to improve overall Medicare star rating and at the same time improve the quality of care provided at the nursing home. Highlights included the successful implementation of the restorative nursing program, establishing various policies and procedures to streamline the care delivery process, cost analysis and implementation of a new therapy software for documentation, and establishing relationships with the universities and technical colleges in the area to assist with internship for their students at the nursing home.
