Alyssar is a Registered Social Service Worker specializing in Gerontology and a Community Care Coordinator on the Homecare Hub team. Alyssar holds an undergraduate degree in Sociology from McMaster University and completed her Social Service Worker – Gerontology at Sheridan College.
Her areas of experience are diverse, including recreational therapy, Alzheimer’s Disease support and education, palliative care, and exercise facilitation. Having worked closely and supported many families and older adults throughout her career, Alyssar is passionate about advocacy and social action for older adults. Additionally, she has a great love for practicing and promoting the importance of an active lifestyle, no matter your age. She is a certified Active Aging Coach through CanFitPro and is currently working on completing her Fitness Instructor Specialist certification.
