Matthew Kindree is the Head of the Business Law Practice Group at Pallett Valo LLP. Matt joined the Firm as a Partner in 2018 after several years as a Partner at one of the world’s largest international law firms.

Matt has been recognized by Lexpert magazine as a Lexpert Rising Star: Leading Lawyer Under 40, an award recognizing the leading lawyers in Canada under the age of 40. He is certified by the Law Society of Upper Canada as a Specialist in Corporate and Commercial Law, and by the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada as a specialist in Corporate Finance. In addition, Matt is an Adjunct Professor of Law at the Lincoln Alexander Law School at Toronto Metropolitan University.

Matt is a member of the Firm’s Cross Border practice and has particular expertise executing multi-jurisdictional transactions, assisting foreign businesses establishing operations in Canada, and supporting Canadian businesses expanding internationally. Matt also regularly acts as Canadian agent counsel to foreign law firms in connection with a broad range of business law matters.

Matt has extensive expertise in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, private equity, banking and finance, and corporate reorganizations and restructurings. He advises domestic and international clients on a wide range of corporate, commercial and regulatory matters across all industries, including the technology, consumer packaged goods, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, and transportation industries. His practice also includes counseling start-up enterprises on general business, corporate finance and regulatory matters.

Matt serves on the board of directors of several for-profit and not-for-profit corporations, and is a former member of the Executive Committee of the Ontario Bar Association (Business Law Section). He has chaired and presented at over 50 seminars and conferences on topics pertaining to corporate and finance related matters, including Structural Elements of M&A Transactions, MBA in a Day for Transactional Lawyers, Secured Transaction Essentials for Business Lawyers and Professionalism Issues for Business Lawyers.
