Editor in Chief at BetaKit
My career path lies at the intersection between mobile technology and new/social media. I began in BlackBerry software development, implementing social community projects on both the desktop and client side. I leveraged this experience in mobile to help found a new media startup, notable at the time for BlackBerry Cool (the longest running BlackBerry news blog in existence) and QuicklyBored (which launched as a mobile gaming industry blog). After three years of growing these properties and launching a few new ones, I was pinched by RIM to start and build a blogging program as a member of their nacent social media team. While at RIM, my role expanded beyond blogging into broader social media marketing responsibilities, including acting as social media lead for the BlackBerry PlayBook launch and various RIM events, such as BlackBerry World and DevCon. I also helped oversee strategic relationships with partners such as foursquare. You may know me as @tron. I play two-guard. I am often left-handed, but rarely sinister. Specialties: mobile. social. content. context. entropy. My career path lies at the intersection between mobile technology and new/social media.
