Maayan is an Entrepreneur and Disability Activist. After graduating with a Masters in Digital Media from Toronto Metropolitan University in 2015, she launched AccessNow, a social enterprise that shares information about the accessibility of places worldwide. As CEO, Maayan has created a powerful shift in thinking about the importance of accessibility, from accessible technologies to infrastructure, public policy, media and more. An internationally acclaimed voice for the disability rights movement, Maayan’s leadership has been recognized with several awards including Canada’s Top 40 under 40, MIT’S Top 35 Innovators under 35, the Governor General’s Innovation Award, Toronto’s Communicator of the Year Award, and WXN’s Top 100 Most Powerful Women in Canada.
