As the Executive Director of Velocity, one of North America's top university-linked business incubators, I am passionate about improving our world by breaking science, technology, and ideas out of the lab and into commercial success. I have over 9 years of experience in leading and advising deep-tech and science-based startups, as well as creating and managing strategic partnerships and alliances with government, academia, and industry. My mission is to streamline commercialization, speeding it up and maximizing its potential to create change. I do this by creating the conditions for others to succeed, such as providing access to funding, mentorship, networks, and product development labs, or by leading initiatives to launch new products and businesses. Previously, I led many initiatives at Xerox, ranging from corporate R&D projects, collaborative product development, and creation of new services businesses. I also co-led Xerox's global intrapreneurship program for new product and business introduction. My efforts are reflected in multiple awards, publications, and patents, as well as the impact and growth of the startups and businesses I have supported and launched.
