Clinical Laboratory General Supervisor with Rapid Novor, Inc.
With over a decade of experience in diverse hospital settings, I’m used to carrying out multiple roles simultaneously. As comfortable with my hands inside an instrument as at the patient’s bedside, my personality is both calm and focused, while still having a smile for everyone I meet. Adapting to rapidly changing situations is natural for me, and I bring a confidence to my work that puts my colleagues at ease.
I’m a yes person. If you need help with a project, or heavy lifting, or data input, or community outreach, my hand is always in the air to volunteer. I pride myself on completing my work both efficiently and accurately; all tasks are worth doing well.
Process improvement and Interprofessional collaboration are areas where I shine. I don’t see problems; I see motivation to think creatively. If a system doesn’t work, I will work with my team to find a better way to get to the desired outcome.
Some of my past projects have included membership of the hospital Interprofessional practice council in Georgian Bay, taking on the role of Unity QC Program Administrator, creating Lab inventory control systems, schedule management of over 50 staff, and productivity optimization to reduce overhead and workflow bottlenecks.
As I have gained experience, I have also found great satisfaction in mentoring others and supporting a space of learning. The more I have developed professionally, the more eager I am to learn more and share what I learn with those around me. As a member of the LGBTQ community, I have worked to advocate for marginalized patients, creating safer spaces for their care, as well as kindly educating my colleagues so that we can all be the best healthcare professionals for our patients.
