Monica Goyal is an entrepreneur, lawyer, and innovator. She applies her technological experience to her legal practice to provide accessible and affordable solutions for the legal needs of business owners. She has developed innovative platforms like My Legal Briefcase and Aluvion Law that utilize technology to create democratic legal solutions for businesses and individuals.
Monica has an undergraduate degree from the University of Waterloo. She is also a graduate of Stanford University where she obtained her Masters in Electrical Engineering. She began her career as an engineer in research and development working for major telecommunications companies like Toshiba, Nortel and Nokia before obtaining her law degree from the University of Toronto.
She was part of the Canadian Bar Association’s Futures Initiatives. Monica is currently an adjunct professor at York University where she teaches Legal Information Technology. In addition, she continues to oversee My Legal Briefcase and a legal practice.
Monica has also been a featured expert on numerous television programs from Sun TV to the Newman Show, and has written extensively about law and technology for national and international press. She was named one of 10 Women to Watch in Tech in the Journal of the American Bar Association and was nominated by Canadian Lawyer Magazine for their Top 25 influential changemakers.
