Denise is the CEO of Asteria Global, an international firm advising and empowering entrepreneurs and business leaders on growth, evolution, digitization strategy, succession planning, and exit / acquisition. At Asteria Global, Denise has grown a large portfolio of international technology start-up clients, supporting and advising their software / technology development and growth strategy for global expansion. Denise demonstrates her passion, energy, and knowledge of strategy, innovation, change, finance, and leadership through her work with clients around the globe. Prior to her work as CEO of Asteria Global, Denise served as CFO for privately held and publicly traded companies. She enjoyed over 20 years in executive roles, leading financial and strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions, change management, and transitioning an initial public offering. Denise is currently the Chair of the Asper Associates Board of Directors, Manitoba's Premier association of leaders, innovators and entrepreneurs advancing business education in Manitoba. Denise is also the Chair of Economic Development Winnipeg's Board of Directors, Winnipeg's lead economic development agency and champion for local growth. Previously Denise held board and committee positions at the Canadian Cancer Society, United Way Winnipeg, a pharmaceutical start-up and the Winnipeg Art Gallery. Denise is a Chartered Professional Accountant and was named a fellow in 2010 in recognition of her career achievements and service to the accounting profession and community. She received her Balanced Scorecard Professional certification through George Washington University and furthered her studies with Harvard authors Kaplan and Norton in spring 2014. She has been an instructor for the CPA Strategic Leadership Program, as well as the Asper School of Business. Denise has been a speaker at numerous conferences across North America on the subject of strategy and leadership.
