Wrapping Up Our Second Cohort of Aspiring Investors: What’s Next?
We’ve just wrapped up our second cohort of aspiring investors, and I couldn’t be more excited about the progress we’re making in the world of angel investing and venture capital. It’s been an incredible journey getting to know these individuals, learning about their initiatives, and exploring how we can collaborate to fuel the growth of more startups—especially those founded by immigrant entrepreneurs, a community close to our hearts.
A Growing Market of New Investors
What stands out to me is how many people want to become investors but just need some guidance. That’s where we come in. Through our program, we’re helping new investors get the knowledge they need. Plus, we’ve already built a strong community of startups, many with exciting growth potential. This means our investors have access to some really great deals!
What We Cover in Our Training
In our sessions, we teach important topics like:
- How to Pick Startups: We help new investors learn what makes a good startup and how to choose the right one to invest in.
- Valuation: We explain how to figure out what a startup is worth.
- Deal Structuring ; Portfolio Management: We show how to structure deals and manage investments to reduce risks.
- Exit Strategies: We focus on how to successfully exit investments to get the best returns.
These sessions are led by my Venture Partner, Alejandro Vivanco , who is amazing at breaking down these topics for new investors.
Our program goes beyond by connecting also with other investors in the market, not just in Canada but abroad, connect with deals and our extended community!
