Tech firms are still obsessed with AI, with 7 times more mentions than in 2022

We refreshed our popular dataset on discussion of AI-related topics in earnings calls, now including data as of August 31st. We identify companies with high, low, or changing mentions of artificial intelligence from 2022 to 2024.

On a sector level:


  • Tech firms are still obsessed with AI, with over 7 times more mentions than in 2022 (from 1117 to a whopping 8305).

  • Industrials (e.g. consulting, electrical equipment) and Comm. Services (e.g. internet, advertising) take the silver and bronze. However, mentions of AI from the tech sector alone are 5 times more than these two sectors combined.

  • Healthcare has moved to fourth on the list from second place in 2022.

  • Utilities, Materials, and Energy remain the bottom three as these companies tend to be indirect beneficiaries of AI compared to direct monetization.
