Environmental Material Science (EMS) was born out of a passion for environmental stewardship and innovation. The co-founder, Dr. Steven Siciliano, is a global soil science expert. After over 30 years of research in remediation and climate change, Steven developed novel solutions for monitoring and managing soils.
The SoilSense service launched in 2022, with the vision of creating a suite of technologies to revolutionize the field of soil management and productivity. We offer an effortless way to monitor soil processes through useful information to reduce liability or maximize soil productivity. Clients we have worked with include Suncor, Plains Midsteam, Cenovus, Federated Cooperatives Limited, UFA, Jacobs, WSP, and Nichols Environmental.
SoilSense is a technology of EMS. The science that powers EMS technology was built by The Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) in collaboration with Federated Cooperatives Limited.
