While traditional diesel engines have helped power the industrial world for over a century, our Modular Linear Generator (MLG) is designed to address modern challenges, and become the industrial power source of choice for the next century.
CAVIE™ modules are the heart of the modular linear generator. Conventional engine technology has a limited ability to adapt to changing conditions and loading demands; therefore, efficiency in real world use suffers. CAVIE™ modules can adjust key physical parameters of the generator (displacement, compression, valve lift and timing, fuel injection) to maintain high combustion efficiency across a wide range of loading.
The ability to adjust displacement and compression allows multi-fuel equipped systems to switch fuel types at any time. Modules can switch from fossil fuels to biofuel, synthetic fuel, or even hydrogen without changing the hardware. The CAVIE™ architecture makes it easy to retrofit new fuel systems in the future as well.
CAVIE™ modules are designed for up to 50kW output from a single module and can be stacked together in a single enclosure for higher power outputs, up to 2MW. Multiple CAVIE™ modules offer even greater load matching capability as individual modules can deactivate completely when not needed.
Battery electric and fuel cell solutions depend on dedicated infrastructure to be a viable industrial power source. Our fuel agnostic generators reduce overhead and emissions with existing fossil fuel supply chains. With MLG systems, customers can explore new renewable fuel sources at any time without fear of new supply chain consistency.
