We are scaling through partnering with others, such as our joint venture with EDF in Togo, and through the backing of our investors including Mitsubishi Corporation.

Since then Bboxx has grown to a strong global company of 4,000 employees, united by its purpose to transform lives and unlock potential by connecting consumers and deploying innovative products across Africa. To date, we have positively impacted more than the lives of 3.6 million people by connecting African customers with clean energy, clean cooking, smartphones, e-mobility and selected financial products – many for the first time.

We are scaling rapidly by forging strategic partnerships with governments and world-class corporates. 

Bboxx Pulse collects billions of data points everyday in order to meet our customers’ long term needs and give them the most reliable service possible.

We started Bboxx to tackle a major global problem: energy poverty and the lack of access to essential products and services across Africa. Currently, over 759 million people in the world remain without access to electricity, of which 570 million are in Africa; and an additional 840 million are connected to unreliable grid. People in the developing countries, are also lacking access to other goods and services such as safe water (663 million people), clean cooking-gas (3 billion people) and financial services (1.7 billion adults remain unbanked).

Over a decade ago, our three co-founders began exploring energy solutions that would provide electricity and other utilities to the millions without them.

They saw that connecting people to innovative products such as clean energy, clean cooking (through last mile logistics and data-powered innovative financing methods) is what individuals, businesses, communities and nations need to unlock their own potential and drive sustainable economic activity. 

So together, they developed a data-driven super platform, a sustainable, affordable, commercial solution that would transform the lives of millions by connecting customers with reliable access to clean energy, clean cooking, smartphones, e-mobility and selected financial products – many for the first time.
