Since its founding in 2012, husband and wife duo Scott DiGuistini and Merissa Myles have built Comox Valley-based Tree Island into a differentiated brand in the premium yogurt space. The company processes milk from local grass-fed dairy cows into cream top, Greek style, and fruit flavoured yogurts that include exotic flavours such as Okanagan peach, pacific strawberry, orange blossom, coconut lime and prairie berry. In addition to its product innovations, the company is the first in Canada to use packaging for its 325g and 500g yogurts that is made with less than 50% of the plastic of standard containers.

As a microbiologist and health foodie, we started Tree Island in 2012 after returning from France where we experienced the joy of yogurt.

We were inspired by farm-fresh yogurt made with whole milk and real fruit purees. There was nothing comparable or nearly as delightful in Canada, so we put our skills together to make it ourselves.

We source quality ingredients and make our own artisan recipes – always with the health of people and the planet at heart.

We are proud to work with grass-fed dairy farms with pastures that promote healthy ecosystems. Cows graze on fields between April and October on Vancouver Island. No-Till practices build soils and captures carbon.

From fresh organic peaches and strawberries to non-gmo hemp hearts, we choose ingredients for the health of people and the planet.
