Since our founding in 2002, InvestEco has invested in over thirty private companies. These range from companies that are developing renewable energy, water technologies, resource productivity technologies and efficient transportation solutions, to companies that promote health and sustainability in the food and agriculture sector.

Over time we have increasingly focused on sustainable food and agriculture, both because we believe activities in this sector will be particularly important to environmental and health outcomes, and because we have developed significant expertise in this area. Today, food and agriculture is our sole focus, and we’ve invested in many leading food and agriculture brands across North America.

InvestEco’s main focus is investing in expansion-stage companies in North America that promote health and sustainability in the food and agricultural sector. Our companies typically have between $5 – 30M in revenues at the time of our initial investment, and we aim to hold our positions for about seven years. Our goal is to make a strong financial return for our investors while supporting companies that are contributing to a healthier world.

At InvestEco, our goal is to develop a true partnership with our portfolio companies. We add value to our companies through our deep sector experience, wide-ranging network and entrepreneurial approach to business. Typically we are actively involved in our portfolio companies as directors, helping management and the board to set a strategic direction for the company.

The North American Sustainable Food sector has been growing at a rate of more than 10% per year for the past decade and is likely now worth more than $100 billion annually. It is expected to continue growing at a CAGR of about 15% until at least 2019. This growth has enabled many small to medium-sized Sustainable Food companies to prosper. It has also attracted the attention of various large food companies that have increasingly been entering the Sustainable Food sector through strategic acquisitions.
