Auvik was founded in 2011 by Alex Hoff, Marc Morin, and David Yach, three engineers who wanted to help IT professionals navigate change with less friction. While working for various tech companies in Waterloo (the tech hub that’s home to Blackberry) they noticed that when it came to the modern network, legacy equipment lacked compatibility with newer, simpler models of control. Companies couldn’t afford to replace every device. So IT pros were stuck making reactive changes manually, on-site and sometimes completely blind to the wider network. But what if a simple and user-friendly platform existed to help IT pros both see and make changes to the network remotely?
And so Auvik was born, a cloud-based IT management platform that helps MSPs and IT departments proactively manage their networks. Early customers were drawn in by the platform’s automated mapping tool, but stayed for the effortless automation. The company expanded globally, building out the platform with SaaS and WiFi management capabilities. Now, Auvik manages one million network devices and three million SaaS applications across 100,000 networks, and provides monitoring services for more than 10 million devices.
