Introducing the first line of cost-effective drilling lubricants based on nanotechnology. Following extensive lab and field validation stages, nLube™ outperforms premium lubricants on the market and offers superior torque and drag reduction in lateral and extended reach wells across all mud types.
nFluids designs nanoparticles using a bottom-up approach that gives us total control over the size, shape, concentration and functionality of the end product. Drawing from our decades of experience in chemistry and material science, nFluids’ goal is to provide bespoke, cost-effective, and environmentally-friendly nanoparticles to solve a wide range of industrial challenges.
Nanotechnology deals with materials at the extreme side of scale — between 1 and 100 nm. At the nanoscale, there are more atoms located on the outside of the particle that are available to interact with other species relative to atoms contained within the bulk of the particle, expressed as a Specific Surface Area (SSA). This gives rise to unique physical, chemical, mechanical, and optical properties of nanomaterials that do not naturally occur at the macro size scale.
nFluids continues to push toward lowering the cost of nanoparticle manufacturing process so we can deliver premium performance at commodity prices.
nFluids technology is a true platform technology, in that there are multiple potential applications not only in oil and gas but also in a variety of other industries, such as agriculture, composites, lubrication, coatings and others. Explore how nanotechnology can bring next-level performance to your application.
Based in Alberta, Canada, nFluids was founded on leading edge research from the University of Calgary. In 2012, nFluids was incorporated as an independent company to solve oil and gas drilling fluid challenges using custom-designed nanotechnology. Since then, the Company has advanced the initial concept into a fully commercialized platform nanotechnology with first two products for drilling fluids on the market. Today, nFluids is fully sustainable, which it credits to a persistent management team, board of directors, advisors and technical staff. Using similar processes and materials, nFluids plans to use the technology to solve related challenges in other industries.
