At Evolved.Bio, we’ve taken a groundbreaking leap beyond traditional cell sheet technologies, which were first developed in Japan in the 1990s. Our unique approach, Anchored Cell Sheet Engineering, refines and extends this foundational technique to meet the needs of regenerative medicine.
Traditional cell sheets are created using temperature-responsive surfaces that allow layers of cells to detach without enzymes, preserving crucial cell connections and the extracellular matrix (ECM), key for successful tissue integration. While effective, this method has limitations in cell and ECM maturity and it's difficult to scale.
Our platform enhances this process by cultivating cells on flexible membranes patterned from nano- to micro-scales. This innovative approach eliminates the need for temperature changes or other external stimuli for detachment. Additionally, strategically placed pillars on the membrane serve as anchors, giving us unprecedented control over the shape, mechanical properties, and dimensions of the resulting tissue constructs.
Enhanced Tissue Properties: By fine-tuning the placement of anchoring pillars, we can precisely control the construct’s form and function, resulting in tissues that more closely mimic natural structures in both composition and microstructure.
Scalability for Clinical Use: Our method is designed for easy scaling, making it suitable for broad clinical applications, from repairing muscle tissue to replacing damaged organs.
Superior Performance: Once implanted, our anchored constructs demonstrate improved performance in vivo, facilitating more effective healing and regeneration compared to traditional methods.
Data-Driven Precision: Integration with our proprietary multimodal machine learning model allows continuous optimization based on real-world data, enhancing the efficacy and safety of the tissues we produce.
